Bean Appetit
Ring-a-Bing-Bing Cherry & Chocolate Chip Cookies
Makes ~12 cookies
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons softened butter
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup sliced Bing cherries, pitted and sliced
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 1/2 tablespoons water

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Every time you add an ingredient to the mixing bowl, say in a high-pitched voice, "Bing!"
In a the bowl, combine butter and brown sugar. Mix in vanilla, honey, chocolate chips and cherries. Mix in the baking powder well. Drizzle in the water. Then sprinkle in the the flour, stirring constantly, so the mixture is smooth.
Roll the mixture on a lightly floured surface so the dough doesn't stick. Form into bell shapes (using bell cookie cutter or butter knife) and place on a parchment lined baking tray.
Bake for 7-9 minutes, until lightly golden brown around edges. Cookies should be spongy in the center.
While cookies are baking, tap a metal fork on some items in your kitchen to see which makes the best "ring."
When the cookies are done everyone chime in with 10 seconds of "Ring-A-Bing-Bing!" and then eat away!
